I've seen these T-shirts everywhere and am almost positive they're made for tourists but only locals wear them. I love it.

Not for tourists. The shirts are part of the reaction to the pro-Tibet protests against Chinese Olympic torch bearers in foreign countries.
That makes so much sense. So they just appeared this spring/summer? Where are they sold?
Yes, just this summer. I've seen them for sale here and there, but I'm a bit stumped because I've never seen the motherload that I'm sure exists somewhere.
